- The solution from Le Pougnezu
- First weighing : Two groups of 6 balls : The heavier ball is in the heaviest group.
- Second weighting : Two groups of 3 balls : same method.
- Third weighting : One ball in each scale.
- If a ball is heavier, we have found the seek ball.
- If both balls have the same weight, the heavier ball is the third ball.
- The solution from Thomas
- We put 4 balls in each scale.
- If both groups have the same weight the seek ball is one of the 4 balls not weighted.
- If a group is heavier, the seek ball is the heaviest group.
- We put 2 balls in each scale and we se with group in the heaviest.
- We put a ball in each scale and we found the heavier ball
- The solution from Titi
- We put 4 balls in each scale.
- If both groups have the same weight the seek ball is one of the 4 balls not weighted.
- If a group is heavier, the seek ball is the heaviest group.
- We put a ball in each scale.
- If a ball is heavier, we have found the heavier ball.
- Else the seek bal is one of the two stayed balls
- If we don't found the heavier ball, we put a ball in ecah scales and we found the heavier ball.
- The solution from Tsunami
- Firt weighing : We put 5 balls in each scale.
- If the both groups have the same weight => second weighing : we put one of each stayed ball in each scale and we found the heavier ball.
- If one group is heavier, the heavier ball is in the heaviest group.
- Second weighing (in the case of 5 balls stay) : we put 2 ball in each scale.
- If both group have teh same weight, the heavier ball is the fifth (which isn't on a scale).
- If one group is heavier => We know in wich group of two balls is the heavier ball.
- Third weighing : we put a ball in each scale and we found the heavier ball.
